Izzy’s Must Do Activities at Disney World! Hidden Mickey Edition

Sure Disney World has great rides but did you know they have many activities?

One of my favorite activities is looking for hidden Mickey’s. Hidden Mickey’s are basically Mickey’s head and ears that are hidden on rides, shops, and even your Disney resort! They are everywhere! Hidden Mickeys are super fun to find and add a little extra magic to your trip.

Here are just some of the Hidden Mickey’s that I have found at Disney World.

O’Canada in Epcot is Closing for Refurbishment

The O’Canada! show will close August 1 and will be closed during the Food and Wine Festival.

O’Canada! will get new footage and a new projection update. I think O’Canada is great just the way it is but I trust Disney with making the film even better.

O’Canada! is located in the Canada pavilion. For a review on the Canada pavilion click here!) O’Canada! is a 360 Circle Vision show like the one in the China pavilion.

Do you think O’Canada! needs to be refurbished?

Rose and Crown Dining Room Review

Rose and Crown Dining Room is located in the United Kingdom Pavilion. (For a review of the United Kingdom, click here!)

Rose and Crown has indoor and outdoor seating. I enjoy seating outside because you get a great view of the World Showcases Lagoon. One time it was storming while we were eating outside at Rose and Crown and the Cast Members pulled down these plastic covers to protect us from the rain. (There was thunder and lightning too!)

The rain is just starting!
Now the screen is pulled down, but it was raining hard and windy!
The rest of the meal was with the closed screen.

I had fish and chips. In the United Kingdom chips are French fries. The fish and chips are really good! I recommend trying them. My mom had the Shepherd’s Pie and said she loved it. For dessert I had the English Trifle. It has layers of strawberries, vanilla custard, graham crackers, and whipped cream with Mickey Mouse Sprinkles.

If you make a reservation to go to Rose and Crown for dinner at 8:30 pm or later, you have a great view of the fireworks.

In the background you can see the fireworks being set up on the World Showcase Lagoon.

I give Rose and Crown five Mickey Bars.

Parking Rates for Overnight Guests at Disney World Resort Hotels Rises

Now the parking rates for overnight parking for people staying at Disney World Resort Hotels have also increased. This is getting crazy!

Here are the new prices:

Disney Value Resorts: Was $13.00 per night Now $15.00 per night

Disney Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts: Was $24.00 per night Now $25.00 per night

Disney Moderate Resorts: Was $19.00 per night Now $20 per night

You can also still use complimentary standard parking at the Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.

I think it’s crazy that Disney is raising prices on parking!

Disney Raises Prices on Reusable Shopping Bags

Disney’s reusable shopping bags are just about everywhere: the parks and the resorts. They were brought to Disney World in January and the goal of these bags was to limit plastic bag use. They currently still give you plastic bags with the purchase unless you ask for a reusable bag.

Now here is the unfortunate part. The price to buy a reusable bag was raised a dollar. At first the prices were $1.00 for a small bag, $1.50 for a medium bag, and $2.00 for a large bag. Now the prices are $2.00 for small, $2.50 for medium, and $3.00 for large.

Disney has also increased the rates to buy a Disney World Annual Pass and for overnight parking for Disney World resort guests. I will post articles on those topics later.

A Beginner’s Guide to Frontierland

Frontierland is located in Magic Kingdom and has one of my favorite rides. Here is a hint: it’s an outside roller coaster.

Big Thunder Mountain is a fun thrill ride!

Rides: Splash Mountain is a ride that is always going to get you wet. (For a Splash Mountain Review click here!) Big Thunder Mountain is one of my favorite rides. Did you guess correctly? Big Thunder Mountain has more curves than drops. Tom Sawyer Island is a great place to relax and escape the crowd. It is not a ride but the only way to get to Tom Sawyer Island is by boat. Country Bear Jamboree isn’t a ride, but it is a fun show with singing animatronic bears.

Country Bear Jamboree

Food: Golden Oak Outpost has drinks, chicken nuggets, and desserts. Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe has a western theme to it. It has indoor and outdoor seating.

Shopping: Briar Patch has Winnie the Pooh and Splash Mountain merchandise. Prairie Outpost and Supply has jellies and candy. Splash Court has Splash Mountain merchandise. Splashdown Photos has candy and ride photos. Trail Creek Traders has Disney character hats. Big Al’s has sunglasses, water bottles, and Disney World fans. Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade is just an arcade room. There is also a General Store, Frontierland Trading Post, and Frontier Mercantile.

Prepare to get wet!

Because Frontierland has some fun rides, I find it very cool!

UniversalwithIzzy: Voodoo Doughnuts Review

On my last visit I tried Voodoo Doughnuts in City Walk at Universal Studios for the first time.

The atmosphere is interesting and different. It even has it’s own merchandise.

It’s so hard to choose one doughnut since they have so many. Here is a link to their menu.

My family and I decided to share six doughnuts with each other. I chose the Neapolitan and the Diablos Rex.

When you get your doughnuts they give them to you in a cute pink box that says, “Good things come in pink boxes.”

The first two doughnuts were the Neapolitan and the Chocolate Ring. The Neapolitan is a chocolate cake doughnut with vanilla frosting, strawberry dust, and three marshmallows. This is the doughnut I chose and it was one of my favorites! My mom chose the chose the Chocolate Ring. It is a yeast doughnut with chocolate frosting.

The doughnuts underneath were even prettier.

The doughnut with the vanilla and chocolate frosting is the Diablos Rex and I chose it. It is a chocolate cake doughnut with chocolate frosting, red sprinkles, a vanilla frosting pentagram, and chocolate chips in the middle.

The purple doughnut was my dad’s choice and it’s called Grape Ape. It is a yeast doughnut with vanilla frosting, grape dust, and lavender sprinkles.

The doughnut with a mountain of sprinkles is my brother Al’s and it’s the Sprinkle Cake. It is a plain cake doughnut with vanilla frosting and sprinkles.

The pink doughnut is also Al’s and is the Little Pink. It is a raised ring dipped in strawberry flavored icing and round sprinkles.

The only problem with these doughnuts is that they are WAY too sweet. Our stomachs were hurting as we left. I would recommend getting only one doughnut each so you don’t get a stomach ache.

New Japanese Restaurant is Coming To Epcot This Summer

A new Japanese restaurant is coming to Epcot this summer. It is going to be called Takumi-Tei.

It will have five rooms that each are inspired by nature: water, washi paper, earth, wood and stone.

Takumi-Tei translates to “house of the artisan.” Each room will have handcraft artwork that celebrates the nature element.

Takumi-Tei even has a dress code.

Allowed for boys:

Must wear slacks or dress shorts and collared shirts.

Jeans are allowed if in good condition.

Allowed for girls:

Must wear Capri pants, skirts, dresses or dress shorts.

Jeans are allowed if in good condition.

Not allowed:

Tank tops, flip-flops, swimsuits, swimsuit cover-ups, hats, cut-offs, torn clothing and t-shirts with offensive language and/or graphics.

This restaurant sounds very interesting! For more information on the Japan Pavilion at Epcot, click here.

New FastPass+ Tiers Coming To Hollywood Studios

I am so sorry for not posting recently! I was really busy with studying for Finals. My last day of school is this Tuesday and then I promise to post a lot of blog articles.

Currently, FastPass+ are separated into two tiers. Tier 1 is for the popular rides meanwhile Tier 2 is for the not as popular rides. The FastPass+ tiers that are at Hollywood Studios right now make it easy to ride a popular ride with a minimal wait time. On August 29, though, they’re going to change the tiers.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will open in Galaxy’s Edge on August 29 but will not have FastPass+.

I think it’s a good idea to use Tier 1 on the most popular rides. For example: Slinky Dog Dash, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and Toy Story Mania to name a few. These rides have very long lines so you should probably use Tier 1.

Green Army Soldiers can be found in Toy Story Land!

Tier 2 meanwhile should be used on Muppet Vision 3D, Indiana Jones, Star Tours, and Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

The new FastPass+ tiers don’t come out until August 29, so hopefully we will get more information!
