Rating Every Disney Movie: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

This is a new segment in the blog where I will rate every Disney movie based on 4 factors. The factors are plot, entertainment, characters, and music. The plot will be rated based on how good the story is. Entertainment will be based on how invested I was in the movie and how interesting I found it. The characters will be based on if they were likeable/memorable or if they were a good villain in the story. And the music will be based on how memorable the songs are and how much I enjoy them. I will also rate each factor. I might also add side notes which could affect the ratings.

From the Disney+ website

These ratings will also only be based on movies, not Disney shorts. I will probably also only do movies that have popular sequels or were released in theaters. For example, Bambi 2 isn’t very famous and I don’t think it was released in theaters so I won’t be reviewing that movie. Lastly, I am pretty much only reviewing animated films, unless it is a super popular live action movie. I’m also going to give a spoiler warning to anyone who hasn’t seen the movie. This article will heavily spoil the movie. Enjoy!

Plot: The plot in Snow White is one of the best plots I have ever seen. Snow White’s evil stepmother is jealous of Snow White and decides she wants to kill her. Snow White has to escape and runs into the forest. She becomes friends with the animals and finds a house in the forest. Later, Snow White learns this house belongs to the dwarfs. So Snow White’s stepmother doesn’t find her, she makes a deal with the dwarfs. She will do their chores and in return she can stay in their house. Later the stepmother disguises herself and gives Snow White a poisoned apple. The only thing that could bring Snow White back was a kiss of true love. Snow White loved the prince and the prince loved her so when the prince kisses her, it brings her back. The movie ends with Snow White and the prince living happily ever after. My only complaint about the ending is that the dwarfs stay in the woods and keep mining. I think that Snow White should have taken them into her kingdom and let them live with no more work. I also felt bad for the dwarfs because they helped her but it feels like she didn’t help them in the end. Although, this is a pretty minor complaint and it is my only complaint about the plot. I will give the plot a 9/10!

From the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs movie

Entertainment: When I was watching Snow White, I was in the car where lots of things could have distracted me, but this movie kept me interested the whole time. Even with the 1930s animations, the movie kept me intrigued. The music and story together helped me keep watching and never get bored. I will give the entertainment a 9/10!

Characters: There weren’t that many characters in this movie. The important characters are really only Snow White, the evil stepmother, the seven dwarfs ( Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Sneezy, Bashful, and Dopey), all the animals, and the prince. Snow White was a very good protagonist and the voice actor did a good job with all of Snow White’s emotions. Whether she was scared, crying, or singing it felt relatively real, especially for a movie that is about 90 years old. The evil stepmother was a very memorable antagonist. You could tell she was very evil and was very jealous of Snow White’s features. She was also very memorable because of the story with the poison apple. The seven dwarfs were my favorite characters from the movie. I love how, pretty much, whenever they are in a scene the whole mood lights up. Dopey was also my favorite character because I liked his goofy kind of humor. It is also super cool that all the characters had completely different personalities based on their names. I could probably do a whole article on how much I love the dwarfs, and they were a great way of adding comic relief to the movie. Then, the animals were also fun to watch because they helped Snow White with her chores in the house. It was super cute seeing the animals wash clothes and dishes together. Lastly, I have the prince. He wasn’t in the movie much, and didn’t even have a name. Although, I still think he was a good addition and was a perfect partner for Snow White. Even though there weren’t that many characters, I didn’t mind it. I will still give the characters a 10/10!

Music: Lastly, we get to the music. I thought the music in this movie was catchy and likable. Some of the songs sung by Snow White are still really popular today, like “I’m Wishing”, “A Smile and a Song”, “The Silly Song (The Dwarfs’ Yodel Song)”, “Whistle While You Work”, or, my personal favorite, “Heigh-Ho”! These songs also helped bring life into the movie. And it didn’t have to be a big name song to bring life to the scene. It could have just been the orchestra playing a song with no words. No matter what song was playing, it always brought some sort of emotion. The movie did a great job with the music, which is why I will give it a 10/10!

If you don’t like old movies, I wouldn’t suggest this movie for you, but if you do, this is an incredible movie for you! My sister (Izzy) doesn’t like it because it is too old, which is completely fine with me, but if you give this movie a chance it could make you fall in love with Disney films. I also think you need to give this movie credit simply because it is almost 90 years old! The graphics and animation are actually very impressive when you remember how old the movie is. It is also crazy to think that the Walt Disney company had to hand draw the whole movie!

Because of this, my final rating is a 9/10! After I watch all of the movies, I will rewatch all of the 9/10s and give a 10/10. This could actually end up being my 10/10 movie but I guess we will find out! I hope you enjoyed the blog! I will keep posting about the movies! Next up is Pinocchio!

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Review

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is on Disney+ and the newest movie I will be reviewing!

Before we get into this review I would like to tell you that this review CONTAINS SPOILERS for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania as well as other MCU movies.

Photo belongs to the Walt Disney World Company.

After a series of events, Ant-Man, the Wasp, Janet, Hank, and Ant-Man’s daughter Cassie end up in the Quantum Realm. While in the Quantum Realm, they will learn more about a world that they could have never imagined. This movie starts off Phase 5 of the MCU.

I really liked the beginning of the movie. I was immediately interested and wanted to know what would happen next. Unfortunately, this feeling did not stick with me through out the movie.

The biggest problem with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is that most of the movie is just talking and not enough action. Half way through the movie, I was bored.

I was also confused because in the beginning of this movie Janet gets angry that Hank and Cassie are sending a signal to the Quantum Realm, but in the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp, Janet, Hank, Hope, and Scott were sending things to the Quantum Realm and she had no problem with that.

I give Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania 3 Mickey Bars. It was a confusing movie that, at many parts, was boring.

Sneakerella Review

Recently, I watched Sneakerella on Disney+ and today I will be talking about this movie!

Sneakerella is about a boy named Eli. Eli dreams of becoming a sneaker designer, but he does not show his artistic talent to his mean stepfather and obnoxious stepbrothers. He works as a stock boy in a shoe store where he longs for a better life. Then, Eli gets the opportunity that he has been waiting for, to design shoes for Darius King, a basketball and sneaker icon. Eli will learn to believe in himself as he tries to achieve his dreams.

The music in this movie was really good and the entire time you are rooting for Eli. I have watched many movies that have a twist on the classic Cinderella story and this movie is one of the best ones I have seen. It feels like a completely new type of story and that is what I love about it.

If you like sneakers then you will love seeing all the different types of sneakers in this movie as well as the design process behind these shoes.

I give Sneakerella 5 Mickey Bars!

Encanto Review

I finally watched Encanto on Disney+!

Encanto is about the Madrigal family that live in a magical home named Encanto. Encanto gives all the children in this family special powers, everyone except for Mirabel. When Mirabel soon finds out that her home is in danger, she must go on a quest to find out how to save her home and her family.

Photo belongs to the Walt Disney World Company. / Can you see Bruno? He is hiding in this poster.

Mirabel is a very likable character in this movie, which I think is very important since she is the main character. The whole time you are rooting for her.

The scenery in this movie was also stunning. This brought a magical touch to the movie.

The music in this movie was also SO GOOD!! My favorite song in Encanto was “We Don’t Talk About Bruno”. It’s really catchy and gets stuck in your head.

I would give Encanto 5 Mickey Bars! There are a couple sad scenes, but besides that I loved this movie!

Spider Man: No Way Home Review

I saw Spider Man: No Way Home in the movie theaters and am excited to be reviewing it for you!

Photo belongs to the Walt Disney World Company.

Before we get into the review, I would like to warn you that this review HAS SPOILERS for Spider Man: No Way Home.

Photo belongs to the Walt Disney World Company.

Spider Man: No Way Home starts off right where Spider Man: Far From Home leaves of with Mysterio revealing that Spider Man is Peter Parker.

Peter Parker then goes to see Doctor Strange and asks him if it is possible to do a spell where everyone forgets that Peter Parker is Spider Man. While Doctor Strange is working on the spell, Peter Parker messes everything up by saying that he still wants certain people to remember that he is Spider Man. This ruins the spell and creates the Multiverse of Madness.

I did really like seeing all three Spider Mans together in the movie. I think the other two Spider Mans brought a lot of comedy relief which was definitely needed.

Photo belongs to the Walt Disney World Company.

I also liked seeing all the different villains from the other Spider Man movies and seeing things from their perspective. Most of the villains in this movie never wanted to become villains, just the evil parts of themselves took over.

Photo belongs to the Walt Disney World Company.

I am going to be completely honest with you. This movie made me so sad. When Aunt May died, I cried. The saddest part for me was when Doctor Strange finally is able to do the spell where everyone forgets that Peter Parker is Spider Man. Everyone also forgets who Peter Parker is. Now, Peter Parker lives by himself and nobody knows him. Isn’t that so sad?!

I give Spider Man: No Way Home 4 Mickey Bars.

Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings Review

Shang-Chi And The Legend of The Ten Rings is a Marvel movie that is now in the movie theaters! Update: Shang-Chi And The Legend of The Ten Rings is now on Disney+.

Photo belongs to the Walt Disney World Company.

On Labor Day, I got to see this movie in the movie theaters and can’t wait to review it for you!

Before we get into the review I would like to tell you that this review CONTAINS SPOILERS for Shang-Chi And The Legend of The Ten Rings.

Photo belongs to the Walt Disney World Company.

When Shang-Chi was a kid his mom died. His dad then decided to train Shang-Chi to become an assassin. Shang-Chi’s father became cruel and Shang-Chi ran away when he was fourteen.

Now, Shang Chi has to return to his past and confront his father and the sister he left behind.

I really enjoyed this movie because I loved all the martial arts fighting. It made this movie unique and the scenery was stunning.

There are a lot of twists and turns in this movie that keep you on the edge of your seat.

Photo belongs to the Walt Disney World Company.

I also liked how unlike Black Widow, this movie had a lot of funny moments. My favorite person in this movie was Katy because she was hilarious.

My favorite person in the movie, Katy. / Photo belongs to the Walt Disney World Company.

I give Shang-Chi And The Legend of The Ten Rings 4 Mickey Bars! I will warn you that this movie does get very sad, so be prepared!

You Should Watch These Movies On Disney+ For Christmas

Merry Christmas! Are you looking for something Christmas themed to watch for Christmas? Well, I have a whole list for you!

First is The Muppet Christmas Carol. The Muppets retell the story of A Christmas Carol with the Muppets acting as characters from the book. The Muppet Christmas Carol gets 5 Mickey Bars! If you are looking for a classic Christmas movie, then watch this!

Noelle is about Kris Kringle’s daughter Noelle. She is the daughter of Santa Claus and this year her brother is training to become the next Santa Claus. The only problem is Noelle’s brother is really stressed out from all the pressure, so Noelle says he should take a break. When he doesn’t return, Noelle goes on a mission to find her brother. This movie gets 5 Mickey Bars! The ending really surprised me.

Lego Star Wars Holiday Special follows Rey as she prepares to celebrate Life Day. Rey and BB-8 go to a Jedi Temple so Rey can become a better Jedi teacher, but she finds this portal that brings her to different time periods in Star Wars history. I would give Lego Star Wars Holiday Special 4 Mickey Bars! I did like seeing all the different scenes from the Star Wars movies, but it was a little too silly for me. Lego Star Wars Holiday Special is not related to Christmas but you can still watch it during Christmas.

I hope that you find a Christmas movie that you and your family will enjoy on Disney+!

Maleficent Review

This story will make you rethink the Sleeping Beauty story.

The movie Maleficent gives you the backstory about Maleficent. You get to learn about what she was like as a child, how she lost her wings, and the events that happened leading up to Aurora pricking her finger.

I really enjoyed this movie because there are plot twists that you weren’t expecting. I also like how instead of making the Sleeping Beauty story all over again Disney came up with a new way to see the story.

If you love Disney villains and learning the backstories about them then watch this movie!! If you have a younger sibling that gets scared easily then maybe they shouldn’t watch this movie.

Maleficent gets 5 Mickey Bars!!!

The Haunted Mansion (Movie) Review

I watched the movie, The Haunted Mansion, on Disney+ on Saturday.

This movie takes place in The Haunted Mansion so if you have been on the ride in Disney World you will recognize Madame Leota (the floating ball), The Singing Busts, and the men who are pointing their guns at each other. The movie is about a family that visits The Haunted Mansion and will have to try to break a curse in the mansion.

The Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom.

I give this movie 4 Mickey Bars!! It’s a very silly movie that the entire family can watch and it is not scary.

If you love The Haunted Mansion ride in Magic Kingdom than you should buy this book because it talks about how The Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom was made.

Live Action Mulan Review

Mulan came to Disney+ on September 4 with premier access (you can read about that here) and I recently watched it and will be telling you if I liked it.

I thought this movie was really well made and I think the clothing was very pretty.

Unlike the live action Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and Cinderella this movie is definitely NOT a musical. The movie is very intense and will put you on the edge of your couch.

You can watch this movie with your whole family and even if you don’t like princess movies but like movies that have a lot of adventure then you will still love this movie. This movie isn’t your typical princess movie.

I give Mulan 4 Mickey Bars!! My only complaint is that I was waiting for the “I’ll Make A Man Out Of You” song but they never sang it. I was a little disappointed.

I still recommend watching this movie!
