Phased Reopening Of Walt Disney World Resort Information

Walt Disney World theme parks will begin opening on July 11, 2020. Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom will open on July 11, 2020 while Epcot and Hollywood Studios will open on July 15, 2020. I will be telling you about the safety measures the Disney parks will now be taking.

Disney Vacation Club properties at Disney World and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground will begin to reopen on June 22, 2020. Disney Vacation Club properties in Vero Beach, Florida and Hilton Head, South Carolina will open on June 15, 2020.

Here are the top things Disney World says you should know before you go to the parks.

  • Face coverings are required for everyone 2 and up and the Cast Members. Temperature screenings are required in some locations.
  • Disney World really recommends to use the My Disney Experience App because it will help you plan your trip to Disney World.
  • You have to have a park reservation and valid admission for the same park on the same date.
  • Disney World warns you that some experiences may be unavailable to allow physical distancing and limited contact.

Shows, parades, and fireworks may remain closed. Disney Resort hotels, restaurants, attractions, experiences and other offers might be limited in capacity and limited availability or closure due to social distancing.

New Disney Resort Hotel Reservations are temporarily paused and will resume after Disney World deals with existing reservations. New Ticket sales are also temporarily paused and will resume soon.

My Top 5 Favorite Things About Disney’s Contemporary Resort

This post is a part of the My Top 5 Favorite Things series. Today I will be talking about my top 5 favorite things about Disney’s Contemporary resort.

5. My fifth favorite thing about this resort is how nice the people that work at The Contemporary Resort are. The people who cleaned our room gave us a balloon!

They also did this with my Minnie ears.

4. My fourth favorite thing about the Contemporary Resort is California Grill. California Grill is a restaurant in the hotel. What I really like about this hotel is how you have a great view of the fireworks. If you would like to learn more about California Grill click here!

This was our view from our table.

3. Another thing that is really cool about the Contemporary Resort is how Disney stores are in the hotel. You can go Disney shopping without leaving the hotel.

2. My second favorite thing about this hotel is how you can take the monorail to get to the parks. You don’t have to get into your car and try to find a parking space. Taking the monorail to the parks is easier.

  1. The number one best thing about this hotel is you can walk to Magic Kingdom!
This is the view of Cinderella’s Castle from our balcony. Magic Kingdom is really close!

This is great because you will be able to get into the park faster because you don’t have to wait in a long for the police officers to check your bags.

There is never a line for this if you walk to Magic Kingdom so they will check your bags and you are done!

You should definitely stay at The Contemporary Resort.

Disney Transportation and Disney Springs Will Close Temporarily Due to The Coronavirus

Everything in Disney Springs will be closed.

All Disney Resorts will also close on March 20, 2020 at 5:00 pm.

Now this is the last depressing article I am going to do. I promise the next articles will be more positive and happy!

The Tree of Life.

Now what about Disney After Hours, Disney Villains After Hours, and Disney Early Morning Magic? They will be automatically refunded for dates March 16, 2020-March 31, 2020.

My question is what will happen to Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival?

Everything New That Is Coming To Disney World In 2020!

Happy New Years everybody! Can you believe it’s 2020? I can’t!

Disney World is bringing new restaurants, shows, and more in 2020!

First off, to me this news is just awesome, a new M&M store is coming to Disney Springs! How cool is that!?! The new M&M store will take the place of Curl and Fit2Run stores.

In early 2020 a new restaurant called Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue will be coming to Epcot. Disney has said that this restaurant will be a modern barbecue with a smoker preparing food and a redesigned patio.

Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along will be coming to the France pavilion on January 17, 2020. This new sing along will be similar to For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along that is in Hollywood Studios. (If you would like to learn about For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along click here.)

Also happening on January 17, 2020, both Canada and China will have new Circle-Vision 360 shows. Canada’s show will be named “Canada Far and Wide.” China’s new show will be named “Wondrous China”.

A new show is coming to the land pavilion on January 17 called “Awesome Planet”. This new show will have nature photography, theater effects, and space sequences.

In February a new restaurant will be coming to Epcot. Gosh! Epcot is getting a lot of changes! The new restaurant will be named Space 220 and will be located between Mission: Space and Test Track. I am really excited to see this new restaurant because I really like space and in Space 220 you are able to see space from your table!

Construction of Space 220 back in August!

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will be open in Hollywood Studios on March 4. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will be inside the Chinese Theater. You will get to be put in the world of a Mickey Mouse cartoon with new technology called 2 1/2 D.

Another attraction expected to come to Hollywood Studios in March is Mickey Shorts Theater. It will take the place of Star Wars: Path of the Jedi theater. Mickey Shorts Theater will have short film just like the show Mickey Mouse on Disney Channel.

On April 17 in Disney Springs, Draw To Life will open. Draw To Life will celebrate the art of animation. It will follow a girl named Julie who tries to finish an unfinished animation piece.

The Swiss Family Treehouse will be closed for refurbishment from April 27-May 3, 202o.

Big Thunder Mountain will also be closing for a refurbishment from May 4-21.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is coming to the France pavilion in the summer. It will be like the ride in Disneyland Paris with a trackless track. The ride will be Ratatouille themed.

Authentic Creperie is also coming to the France pavilion near Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in the summer. The restaurant will have sweet and savory crepes. It can have a quick-service and table service dining option.

HarmonioUS will be a nighttime show coming this year (we do not know when in 2020). Disney says it will be “a worldwide celebration of Disney music.”

A new resort will be located in the Boardwalk area. It will be called The Cove. It is mostly focused on being for conventions and being group oriented.

Okay, who else is excited for 2020!?!

A Year In Review: Everything New That Happened In Disney World Part One

2019 is almost over and I thought it would be a good idea to review everything new that happened in Disney World this past year. The list is so long that I will be making a part two.

Back in early January of 2019 Disney announced an offer for free dining! It was for stays between July 5, 2019 and September 30, 2019. You had to sign up for the free dining offer and stay for a minimum of 4 nights. You can no longer use this free dining offer, but if you are curious to learn more about the free dining offer click here!

In March Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy opened. I even was able to go on the ride back in August! Basically, Lightning McQueen teaches the next set of rookies (you) to become awesome racers but something happens! If you want to know what happens go to the ride in Hollywood Studios!

In April, Haunted Mansion started having an on-ride photo. That means that when you ride the Haunted Mansion while wearing your MagicBand a camera will take a picture of you and you will see a Haunted Mansion themed photo. Click here to learn more about that!

Also in April, Disney banned oversized strollers. They now need to be no larger than 31 inches wide and 52 inches long. If you would like to know more about this rule click here!

In May, you could buy Mickey Bars at your local supermarket. They were delicious! They are no longer available. If you would like to see me review this delicious treat click here!

In June the parking rates for overnight guests at Disney World Resort hotels rose, prices on reusable shopping bags rose, and annual passholder prices rose.

You can learn more about the raise in parking rates here, you can learn
more about the rise in price for reusable shopping bags here, and the rise in annual passholder prices here.

So much happened from January to June!

California Grill Review

California Grill is located in the Contemporary Resort. We went to California Grill last time I went to Disney World. Did I enjoy it?

They gave us bread.

DELICIOUS!!!!!

They also gave us an assortment of cheeses.

It looks really pretty!

Here is a list of the cheeses.

I had the wood-burning oven pepperoni pizza with no basil oregano pistou. It was really good!

My mom got the exact same thing as me except with basil oregano pistou.

My dad had the Oak Fired Filet of Beef. He liked it.

My brother got the cheese pizza from the kids menu.

For dessert my mom and I had the Warm Valrohna Chocolate Cake. It comes with one scoop of vanilla ice cream and chocolate whipped panna cotta. IT WAS SO GOOD!!!!!

My dad and brother had for dessert Plant-Based Lavender Donuts. They liked them. (One of the donuts contains alcohol so make sure you know which one this one is so you do not eat it. My brother did NOT eat the alcohol donut. My dad ate it.)

I give California Grill 4 Mickey Bars! The food took way too long but you get a great view of the fireworks and California Grill has a balcony so you can watch the fireworks.

Chef Mickey’s Review

Chef Mickey’s is located in The Contemporary Resort. Back in August, I went to Chef Mickey’s for the first time.

The moneral is in the background!

Chef Mickey’s is a buffet. A buffet means that the chefs put out the food and you have to get it yourself.

I had macaroni and cheese, a croissant, and piece of turkey.

My food!

It was okay but not extraordinary or something so good that I would have seconds. My mom had macaroni and cheese, meatballs, green beans, a salad, and tater tots. She said it was okay.

My moms food!

My dad had shrimp, corn, tater tots, turkey, asparagus, beef, and olives. He thought it was good.

My dad’s food!

My brother had chicken tenders, tater tots, a hot dog, shrimp, and turkey. “It was good,” he said.

Al’s food!

Another thing that is really cool about Chef Mickey’s is that while you are eating Chef Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald all come to take pictures with you at your table.

Pluto!

They are all dressed up like chefs!

Donald!

Can you tell?

Goofy!
Minnie!
The star of the restaurant, Chef Mickey!

I give Chef Mickey’s two Mickey bars! We all agreed that the food was only okay. A pro to Chef Mickey’s though is that you get to see Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald all dressed up. The people at Chef Mickey’s make sure you see all the characters before you finish your meal. A con is that we waited for an hour to get seated. When we complained the people that work at Chef Mickey’s gave us a FastPass+ to make up for the wait.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Back in August I stayed at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Want to know what it was like? Keep reading to find out!

Since the Contemporary Resort is a Disney hotel, you can arrive in a Minnie van! (A Minnie van is just like an Uber or Lyft.)

When you walk inside don’t forget to trade a pin!

The Contemporary Resort has three restaurants: The Wave…. Update: Steakhouse 71 has replaced The Wave.

…Chef Mickey’s……..

and California Grill. I went to both Chef Mickey’s and California Grill and will give you separate reviews on those restaurants.

Do you want to know the best part about The Contemporary Resort? You can walk or take the monorail to get to Magic Kingdom. The monorail goes into the hotel!

Here are some pictures from the room we stayed in.

The TV has a channel that plays the same music live from the fireworks in Magic Kingdom so you can watch the fireworks on the balcony.
The couch is very comfortable.

The people who cleaned our room were really nice. One of them gave us a balloon! We still have it 3 months later.

They also did this to my Minnie ears.

The view from the balcony was amazing and perfect for seeing fireworks in the sky and light shows on the water.

The view from the balcony!

Here is the view of the fireworks at night.

The Contemporary Resort also has many stores that you can shop in.

Don’t forget to get involved in the activites at the resort! Many of them are free!

If you haven’t noticed I REALLY liked the Contemporary Resort and think you should stay there on your next Disney World trip.

An Interview With A Six Year Old

Back in January I interviewed my brother, Al. Now he is six and a half and I thought, “How about we do an interview with a six year old?”

Izzy: Hi Al! I am going to be interviewing you again for my blog.

Al: Okay.

Izzy: Can you list your favorite rides at Disney World?

Al: First it’s got to be Test Track, next is Dinosaur, then Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, fourth is Spaceship Earth, and fifth is… I got to think about this one. Fifth is Big Thunder Mountain.

Izzy: Do you like meeting characters? If so which ones?

Al: Pooh Bear! Pooh Bear! Definitely Pooh Bear! Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet.

Piglet with … Piglet!

Izzy: Which resort do you like better The Yacht Club or Disney’s Contemporary Resort?

Al: That’s a very hard choice! Probably Disney’s Contemporary Resort because it only took a monorail to get to Magic Kingdom.

The view of the fireworks from our room at The Contemporary.

Izzy: In April you went to Universal Studios. What was your favorite ride?

Al: Fast and Furious. I even got a shirt from it, so much fun! My favorite part is when we crash and water sprays us!

Izzy : What is your favorite restaurant in Disney World?

Al: PizzeRizzo. Their pizza is so good! It was raining when we were at Muppet Theater and PizzeRizzo was the closest place to eat.

One of the additions to Pirates for the Halloween Party.

Izzy: Did you like The Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party?

Al: Yes I loved it! My favorite part was Pirates of the Caribbean because it changed a lot!

Izzy: Did you enjoy the Boo-To You Parade?

Al: I loved it! I wanted to stay. Do you know who my favorite character was? The ghosts and the pirates.

Izzy: This year you finally did Flight of Passage. Did you like it?

Al: I loved it. It was the funnest thing ever!

Izzy: Those are all the questions I had on my list. Thank you!

Al: You’re welcome!
