Today we will be talking about Skipper Canteen and my experience there!
The full name of the restaurant is Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen, but everyone just calls it Skipper Canteen.
The inside of Skipper Canteen is made to look a lot like the Jungle Cruise ride.
I had the “Tastes like Chicken” Because it is! Spoiler alert: it does taste like chicken. This comes with sweet chili glaze, vegetables, and rice. The chicken was nice, crispy, and I liked the sweet chili glaze on it.
Al had Chef Tandaji’s Crispy Chicken from the kids menu. This comes with a choice of two sides. He chose fruit and vegetables. He thought his meal was pretty good.
My parents tried out the “Hardy Har Char” Siu Pork. It is a Char Siu-marinated pork with vegetables and jasmine rice. The rice is hard to see in this picture since it is hidden behind the vegetables.
Everybody liked their meals and I give Skipper Canteen 5 Mickey Bars!
Did you know that there is a Spring Roll Cart in Magic Kingdom?
The Spring Roll Cart is located just outside of the entrance to Adventureland. There are two types of spring rolls: Cheeseburger Spring Rolls and Buffalo Chicken Spring Rolls. We tried both.
The Cheeseburger Spring Roll was really good! What I really loved about these spring rolls is that they are still hot when you buy them.
The Cheeseburger Spring Roll has a couple pickles inside it too, which gives this spring roll more flavor.
I was not a big fan of the Buffalo Chicken Spring Rolls. It was too spicy for me, but if you like spicy food then you will enjoy this spring roll.
I give Magic Kingdom’s Spring Roll Cart 4 Mickey Bars! Next time you are in Magic Kingdom, I would really recommend trying the Spring Roll Cart!
Aloha Isle Refreshments has a must get snack. Can you guess what it is? It’s the Dole Whip! Every time we go to Disney World, we always get the Pineapple Dole Whip. We bought it again this trip.
The Pineapple Dole Whip isn’t the only type of Dole Whip you can get. There are many different types of Dole Whips to choose from. We also got a Raspberry and Pineapple Dole Whip Swirl. It was really good! The Raspberry and the Pineapple go really well together.
I decided to try the Coconut Dole Whip because I LOVE coconut! The Coconut Dole Whip was delicious! If you love coconut like me, then this is your Dole Whip. You can taste the coconut in every bite.
I actually like the Coconut Dole Whip more than the Pineapple Dole Whip. I know what your thinking. How?! I actually do not like Pineapple, so that is why I like the Coconut Dole Whip better.
Disney World is celebrating Hispanic Latinx Heritage Month!
When you visit Epcot, don’t forget to look for the Miguel and Dante gold character statues from the movie Coco. These can be found near the entrance of the World Showcase.
The Mexico pavilion is the perfect place to celebrate Hispanic Latinx Heritage Month!
San Angel Inn Restaurante will have a new menu from October 1st-December 31, 2021 from the San Pascal Award-winning Chef Federico A. Lopez. The new menu will have regional Mexican dishes.
You can also currently check out the Mexico Folk Art Gallery.
You can watch Mariachi Cobre perform at the America Gardens Theater and hear the songs they have added from Coco.
The Epcot International Food and Wine Festival is happening right now and you can try the Chimichurri-up Offense from Fire Hosted by The NFL on ESPN. Don’t forget to also try the Crispy Pig Ear Salad at The Swanky Saucy Swine.
From October 1st-4rth, the band Latin Ambition will do a special performance at The America Gardens Theater.
Over at Hollywood Studios, you should try the Colombian Hot Dog at Fairfax Fare Counter.
At Magic Kingdom, you can see Princess Elena in the cavalcade in “A Royal Princess Processional.”
At Animal Kingdom, Tiffins has food inspired by Imagineers’ travels to Oaxaca, Mexico. This includes Sweet Corn Soup and Charred Octopus.
At the The Smiling Crocodile, you can get some Street Corn Tacos. These tacos are a lot like the tacos you would find in markets in Mexico City.
Now lets talk about the resorts! If you are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel you can watch Movies Under The Stars. Some movies include Coco and Elena and the Secret of Avalor.
Disney Resort Hotels will have Latin inspired dishes. These include Pork Tacos with marinated mango and a manchego cheese dip, Pork Ropa Vieja, and Shrimp Tacos.
At Disney Springs, you can listen to La Calle, a Latin Pop band. Nicholas Marks known as the “Jimi Hendrix” of Flamenco music blends American Pop music with Spanish Flamenco.
Some Hispanic and Latinx dishes at Disney Springs include Alex Cabrera’s Tres Leches at Amorette’s Patisserie and Jose Rodriguez’s Tripleta Burger at D-Luxe Burger.
Cilantro Urban Eatery is a visiting food truck that will have Latin street food that is Venezuelan, Puerto Rican, Mexican, and American cuisine.
An Artist Spotlight series will show Hispanic and Latinx producers, directors, and animators that are working on an upcoming Disney film called Encanto at the Art of Disney. You can find soccer gear at Pele Soccer and jewelry that was handcrafted by Spanish artists at UNOde50.
While you are at Disney World, don’t forget to celebrate Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month!

The Hall of Presidents is a show located in Liberty Square where you learn more about the presidents of The United States Of America. (Another reason why you should see it is because it is indoors and there is air conditioning!)
It was no surprise that The Hall of Presidents was closed because every four-eight years a new animatronic is added to this show when a new president is elected.
Now, you can see President Biden along side all the other presidents of The United States of America.
You should definitely go to The Hall of Presidents to see President Biden!
We just got off Big Thunder Mountain in Magic Kingdom when Al said that he saw PCDev!
PCDev is a Disney Vlogger that we watch a lot. He even made the list I made of my favorite Disney World Vloggers. PCDev’s videos are really good because they are really fast. He covers a lot of information in a fun fast way.
We said hello to him and he was very nice. He offered to take a picture with us which we did.
He even let Al and me say “It’s nice to be nice. Prince Charming out!” on his latest video. (That is PCDev’s sign off for all his videos.)
Here is a blooper of us saying it. I messed up because PCDev says at the end of his videos “Remember it’s nice to be nice in YouTube Prince Charming out!”
Here is the real clip of us saying it.
The video PCDev was making is called Must do Disney World Rides in Each Park That You Can’t Miss! He goes to all four Disney World parks in one day and rides fifteen rides. You should definitely watch it! Here is a link to the video: Must do Disney World Rides in Each Park That You Can’t Miss! At the end, Al and I say the sign off!
I was really happy to get to meet PCDev and be in his video!
