Slinky Dog Dash Ride Review

Height Restriction: Must Be 38 Inches

What I Like About It

Slinky Dog Dash is located in Hollywood Studios in the new Toy Story Land.  When you walk into Toy Story Land you feel like a small toy in Andy’s backyard!

Giant Woody at the entrance to Toy Story Land

Slinky Dog Dash is new and opened in June 2018.  It is a roller coaster that is located outside.  The ride seems like a small kiddie ride but DON’T be fooled.  This ride is FAST!  Towards the middle of the ride it speeds up.  My favorite parts of the ride are when the ride goes up and when there are about five bumps that make the roller coaster bounce up and down.

This ride is FAST!

What I Don’t Like About It

The ride is outside.  Roller coasters that are outside scare me.  Seeing all the people below me just freaks me out.  This is probably why I enjoy Space Mountain so much.

Dinosaur Ride Review

Height Restriction: Must be 40 inches

What I Like About It

Dinosaur is a ride at Animal Kingdom with many scary dinosaurs.  The ride is exciting and lots of fun.  The goal is to find the Iguanadon dinosaur to bring it back with you, but everything goes wrong.  There is also a hidden Mickey at the beginning of the ride.

HOLD TIGHT!

What I Don’t Like About It

The ride jerks around A LOT.  Even though you have a seat belt it still is very jumpy.  Hold the bars or a parent.

Star Tours Review

R2D2!

What I Like About It

Star Tours is a ride at Hollywood Studios based on Star Wars.  You and C3PO have to escape from Darth Vader or the First Order.  Oh no!  They are looking for the rebel spy on your ship (they flash a picture of a random person on the ride who is the “rebel”).  Every time you go on Star Tours it’s different, meaning that if you first saw Darth Vader, the next time your ride you might see the First Order.

What I Don’t Like About It

When the doors open for you to exit, the other doors for the people to get on the ride open too.  If you’re getting off the ride, you can feel stressed and rushed, especially if you have had to store your bag underneath the seat and you have to get it out.  It will be okay!  If you hold up the line, it is not the end of the world.

Things You Need for your Disney Bag

Bringing a bag with you can help you feel more independent.  One thing you obviously need is a fan.  At Walt Disney World, you can buy a battery powered fan and it can spray water.  I used this fan for a couple of years, but after my brother no longer needed a stroller and I started carrying it, the fan started to leak.  I advise bringing a hand fan instead.  This way you don’t need to hold it all day long and you can fold it up and put it in your bag.  If you like wearing Minnie ears, I would advise to still bring a hat.  You are going to be in the hot Florida sun all day and a hat can help keep you cool or at least keep the sun out of your eyes.  Hand wipes will be very useful if you are going to a restaurant.  You don’t always have a chance to wash your hands first, so the hand wipes help.  Bye germs!  In Florida there is always a 99.9% chance it will rain.  Always either bring an umbrella or a poncho so you don’t get soaked.  Florida weather will surprise you!  If you are wearing Minnie ears or just want extra protection from the sun, you should definitely bring sunglasses.

My Favorite Restaurant at Magic Kingdom

My favorite restaurant at Magic Kingdom is Be Our Guest.  At Be Our Guest Restaurant you get to experience eating at the Beast and Belle’s castle!  You get to choose where you want to sit from three themed rooms: the ballroom, the Beast’s room or the library.  My favorite is the ballroom because it looks exactly like it does in the movie and also because if you look out the windows, it’s snowing!

If you go for dinner, at the end of the meal you get to meet the Beast and take a picture with him.  I like to go at lunch.  Since I am eleven years old, I order from the adult menu.  My favorite is the Croque Monsieur (the ham and cheese sandwich).  It’s delicious!  For dessert I have the Strawberry Cream Cheese Cupcake.  Yum!  I would totally recommend this restaurant.

The Croque Monsieur and the Strawberry Cream Cheese Cupcake. Yum!

Space Mountain

Height Restriction: Must be 44 inches

What I Like About It

If you like roller coasters, this ride is for you!  Space Mountain is a thrill ride in the dark with sudden drops and turns.  When you’re getting on the ride, they are going to tell you bad stuff, but it’s ok.  Space Mountain is my favorite ride ever!

What I Don’t Like About It

The line is way too long – you need a Fastpass.  In August, my mom and I didn’t have a Fastpass and it took us over an hour to get on.  Luckily, the Disney Play app you can download on your phone helped the time go by.  There are hidden codes and much more.  The Space Mountain game on the app only works in the park.

My Favorite Ride!

My Favorite Snacks

When you’re at Walt Disney World, they don’t just have good rides, they have good snacks too!  My favorite snack is the ice cream sandwich with Mickey’s face on it.  The Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich has two chocolate wafers and Cookies and Cream ice cream.  My second favorite snack is the Mickey Bar.  The Mickey Bar has frozen vanilla ice cream with a hard chocolate shell on the outside shaped like Mickey’s face and ears!  This is the most popular snack at Walt Disney World.

The one and only MICKEY BAR!

My third favorite snack is the churro.  The churro comes warm and full of sugar and it comes with a chocolate dipping sauce.  THE CHOCOLATE SAUCE IS AMAZING!! I also like the Mickey pretzel.  It is warm, salty, and buttery.  It also has Mickey’s face. My brother’s favorite is the Minute Maid soft frozen lemonade (the yellow one, not the pink strawberry one).  It’s really good and feels refreshing after being in the Florida sun.  Which is your favorite?

Soft Mickey Pretzels are so delicious

My Top 5 Favorite Rides at Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom is my favorite park because it has the most rides.  My favorite ride is Space Mountain, which is located in Tomorrowland.  The ride is in the dark and has sudden drops and turns. Too young for Space Mountain?  My second favorite ride, Big Thunder Mountain, may be for you. Big Thunder Mountain is located in Frontierland.  The ride is outside and has lots of curves. My third favorite ride is The Jungle Cruise. How amazing your ride is depends on your tour guide.  On the Jungle Cruise you ride in a boat while seeing amazing fake animals.

My fourth favorite ride at Magic Kingdom is Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. This ride is short and is located in Fantasyland.  Here you can take a trip through the mines but still ride a roller coaster.

My fifth favorite is Pirates of the Caribbean. Now you can take a trip with the pirates. Keep an eye out for Captain Jack Sparrow!  He appears at least three times during the ride.
