Epcot has eleven countries that each add something unique to the World Showcase. Today, I will be sharing the best thing to do at each pavilion.
First, let’s start off in the Canada pavilion! I would recommend watching Canada Far and Wide. This is a 360 Circle Vision show that shows footage from Canada.
The China pavilion also has a 360 Circle Vision show called Reflections of China. This show is a great way to learn more about the country.
The France pavilion has a lot to do, so it is hard for me to pick just one thing. I would say to go to La Crêperie de Paris. This is a restaurant that serves savory and sweet crêpes!
Biergarten is a very fun restaurant to go to in the Germany pavilion! While you eat, you hear live music.
The Japan pavilion has a ginormous store called Mitsukoshi. This store has basically anything you can think of from Japanese candy to stuffed animals.
The Mexico pavilion has a great restaurant called La Hacienda de San Angel. If you go here I would highly recommend getting the Queso Fundido. I prefer this restaurant over San Angel Inn because you are not sitting in the dark.
Spice Road Table in the Morocco pavilion has a great view of the World Showcase lagoon, so I would recommend sitting outside. The food here is also delicious! I always get the Mix Grill Skewers.
The Norway pavilion has the perfect ride for Frozen fans! Frozen Ever After is a boat ride and towards the end of the ride the ride starts going backwards. I will warn you that the line for Frozen Ever After can get very long.
Finally, we have The United States of America pavilion! The American Adventure is an indoor show that talks about American History. Not only is the show educational, but you will also be indoors!
While this is only a preview of all the amazing things you can experience at the World Showcase, I hope that now you have found some new rides, restaurants, or shows to try!
Happy New Years! Now that it is officially 2022, we have to talk about everything new coming to Disney World!
A new cavalcade called “Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade” is coming to Disney World in early 2022. It will have more characters than any other cavalcade.
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Resort will be opening on March 1, 2022. It will be two nights long and you will get to build your own lightsaber, eat at Crown of Corellia, meet characters from Star Wars, and so much more! It will be near Hollywood Studios.
Epcot will be opening a a ride called Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. This ride will be in Epcot in the summer. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will be Disney’s first thrill ride that has a reverse launch. The ride will be one of the longest completely closed coasters in the entire world.
Tron Lightcycle Power Run will open in Magic Kingdom in 2022. Tron Lightcycle Run will take you on an epic adventure on a lightcycle. This ride was inspired by a similar ride located in Shanghai Disneyland.
The new Epcot entrance is still under construction. The new entrance will have greenery, winding paths, and the Leave a Legacy photos will be relocated.
Disney announced a new quick service restaurant in Epcot will be opening, but we don’t know when. We do know it will be called Connections Cafe and Eatery. It will replace Electric Umbrella, which is currently closed.
A new Walt Disney statue is supposed to be coming to Epcot, Dreamers Point is going to be part of the World Celebration neighborhood, and a wishing tree will be coming. Also, a story fountain will be coming. This story fountain will celebrate iconic Disney story telling. We do not know when this all will be happening.
A new play pavilion is coming to Epcot. It will be called Wonders of Life Pavilion. Disney said it will,”Build on the power of play, [the new pavilion] introduces an immersive and interactive ‘city’ where you can explore, create, interact with some of your favorite Disney characters.” We do not know when Wonders of Life Pavilion will open.
Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana will connect you to Moana and water in a walk-through experience. We do not know when Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana will open.
Back on June 25, 2020, Disney announced Splash Mountain would be rethemed to a Princess and the Frog ride. The ride will be about Tiana and Louis as they prepare for their first Mardi Gras performance. Construction hasn’t started yet, so we do not know when the ride will be ready.
The China pavilion is getting an updated 360 degree show. This show will be called Wondrous China. Disney has not said yet when this show will open.
Roundup Rodeo BBQ will be a full service restaurant in Toy Story Land. This restaurant will make you feel like you are in Toy Story. Construction has started, but we don’t know when this restaurant will be finished.
First, we tried the Crispy-fried Pepper Shrimp with spicy sichuan noodles. This dish is spicy so if you don’t like spicy foods you might want to skip this dish. I really liked how spicy it was and the spice on the shrimp made the shrimp delicious.
Then, we tried the Pan-fried Chicken Dumplings with House-made sweet-and-spicy sauce. The dumplings had a nice crunch to them.
My favorite food from the China booth is the ZiRan Beef Bao Bun. That is a grilled beef with cumin. When you bite into the bao bun, it’s really soft. I loved it so much that I forgot to share it with the rest of my family.
I give the China booth 5 Mickey Bars! We all agreed that the food was delicious and we all wanted to go back to get seconds!
May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and Disney World is celebrating!
At Magic Kingdom, you can still see Mulan and Moana on the character cavalcades and at the train station.
In Epcot, Mulan is joining the Princess Promenade at the World Showcase.
In Hollywood Studios, Mira, from a Disney Junior show called Mira, Royal Detective, is joining the Disney Junior Motorcade from now until late June.
At Animal Kingdom, a Moana sand sculpture will be on Discovery Island in mid May. You can even learn how to draw Tuk Tuk from Raya And The Last Dragon and Pua from Moana at The Animation Experience at Conservation Station!
At Disney World Resort Hotels the Movies Under The Stars will come back. Movies Under The Stars lets you watch movies outside that show Asian American and Pacific Islander communities and cultures. These movies include Big Hero 6, Moana, Mulan, and Lilo and Stitch.
The Red Bean Ice Float can be found at the Lotus Blossom Cafe in the China pavilion all month long. This drink was originally popularized in Hong Kong and it is made with sweetened Chinese red beans, milk, crushed up ice, and vanilla ice cream.
Another thing you can get at Lotus Blossom Cafe is Char Siu with Rice. Char Siu in Chinese or Cha Shao in Mandarin means fork roast. This is a Cantonese style barbecue pork dish popularized in Hong Kong and in ethnic Chinese communities all over the world. It is an iconic item at Chinatown restaurants all over The United States. Just looking at this dish is making me hungry!
There is a calligraphy demonstration every Wednesday in May from 2 to 3 pm EST and 6 to 7 pm EST at House of Good Fortune. The House of Good Fortune is showing the history and significance of Chinese Calligraphy.
The Japan pavilion shares Japanese culture all year! Mitsukoshi Department Store has traditional Japanese architecture and design as well as Kimonos and Kawaii from Japan. This store has popular Japanese toys, clothing, incense, and snacks.
You should definitely check out this store because it is ginormous and you will find something in the store that you like.
While your in the Japan pavilion, don’t forget to check out Teppan Edo which serves sushi and hibachi and Katsura Grill that has miso-glazed chicken wings, okonomiyaki fries, ramen, sushi, and teriyaki chicken.
Disney Springs is celebrating in many different ways and one of those ways is with Chef Jessi Sudsa-nguan who is the pastry chef at Amorette’s Patisserie. Chef Jessi is from Bangkok, Thailand and has been working for the Walt Disney World Resort for over 30 years.
She has created a special treat for this month! The treat is a Jasmine Tea Cream Tart. It is a light dessert that has fruit gelee and a butter and nut cookie crust in honor of her favorite Asian teas and flavors with a twist.
Also at Amorette’s Patisserie, you can get the Mulan Petit Cake. The flavors are matcha chiffon, lemon chiffon, honey-ginger mousse, lemon curd, lemon-ginger streusel, and green tea simple syrup.
You can get the Matcha Yuzu Ganache Square at The Ganachery. The flavors are green tea and yuzu dark chocolate ganache.
At The Daily Poutine you can get Korean BBQ Fries. That is Korean-style bulgogi pulled pork and kimchi with Sriracha aïoli and topped with French Fries.
The restaurant Morimoto Asia, located in Disney Springs, is led by Japanese Master Chef Masaharu Morimoto. The menu at this restuarant has his take on Chinese, Japanese, and Korean dishes. This month you can enjoy the following dishes at Morimoto Asia.
Lomilomi is a salmon tartare with tomatoes, onions, and scallions.
Loco Moco is a traditional Hawaiian burger rice bowl made with a blend of filet and A5 wagyu topped with an egg and teriyaki mushroom gravy.
Saimin is a Hawaiian style ramen with a dashi shrimp broth, thin noodles, and roasted pork. This dish is available at Morimoto Asia Street Food.
Halo-Halo is a Filipino shaved ice dessert with flavored jellies and fruit.
You can also go to YeSake to try some Japanese street food and Asian inspired drinks including Karaage, Taiyaki, Chicken Buns, Ahi Tuna Poke Bowls, Bubble Teas, Sake Sushi, and more!
Don’t forget to go see the artist spotlight series at The Art of Disney. This series is focusing on Asian Pacific American filmmakers, artists, authors, and screen writers who have or are working at Walt Disney Animation Studios. These people include Qui Nguyen, Mohit Kallianpur, Fawn Veerasunthorn, Willie Ito, Gyo Fujikawa, Milton Quon, and Disney Legend Tyrus Wong.
You can shop at Basin whose portion of sales go to the AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) Community Fund.
Over at Disney Springs West Side you should go check out the art piece that was inspired by Raya And The Last Dragon. This stunning artwork was created by Xiao Qing Chen outside of AMC Theaters.
The artwork is inspired by Raya’s Malaysian heritage and celebrates diversity.
You should definitely come to Disney World right now to celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month!
Disney World has many amazing live shows and today I will be sharing with you my favorite ones!
5. My fifth favorite live show is The Jeweled Dragon Acrobats in the China pavilion. This live show is actually performed by kids! This show even made my list of My Top Five Favorite Things To Do In The China Pavilion. Update: Due to the corona virus, The Jeweled Dragon Acrobats is currently closed.
4. My forth favorite live show is Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage in Magic Kingdom. You get a retelling of the Beauty and the Beast story in the form of a musical. Now if this show is outside, why is it in front of The Jeweled Dragon Acrobats in my ranking? Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage has a cover and many fans that will help you stay cool. This show is great and Gaston is really funny! Update: Due to the corona virus, Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage is currently closed.
3. My third favorite live show is Frozen Sing Along in Hollywood Studios. Princess Anna is trying to find her sister Queen Elsa and to pass the time the storytellers of Arendelle tell you the Frozen story. I really like all the jokes that the storytellers say and sometimes they even make each other start laughing. Even if you aren’t a fan of the movie Frozen, you will still enjoy this show.
2. My second favorite live show is the Festival of the Lion King show in Animal Kingdom. During this show, you sit in either the elephant, warthog, giraffe, or lion sections. The Festival of the Lion King is celebrating Simba. I really like how much dancing is in this show and you get to hear music from the movie. Update: Due to the corona virus, The Festival of the Lion King is currently closed, but it’s coming back this summer!
My favorite live show in Disney World is the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! in Hollywood Studios. It is a stunt show with a lot of fire and explosions. During the show they ask for volunteers to help with stunts. You must be 18 or older to participate. There is a big surprise during the show. If you want to know what the surprise is, then you have to watch the show! Update: Due to the corona virus, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! is currently closed.
Those are my top five favorite live shows in Disney World. This was a very hard list to make since I like many live shows in Disney World!
The World Showcase has many shows that are very unique and interesting. Today we are going to be talking about my favorites!
5. My fifth favorite show is Impressions De France in the France pavilion. This indoor show teaches you a lot about France. Why this show is in fifth place for me is because it is outdated and could use an update. You should still see this show though!
4. My forth favorite show is The American Adventure in The United States pavilion. Benjamin Franklin and Mark Twain talk about American History. This show is very educational and INDOORS!
3. In the Japan pavilion you can watch Matsuriza perform Japanese Taiko Drumming. This outdoor show happens several times a day and I like how this show is different.
2. Reflections of China in the China pavilion is an indoor 360 Vision show located in the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest. This show is awesome! It teaches you a lot about China that you might not have known before. This show was updated and is now renamed Wonderous China.
My favorite show in the World Showcase has to be O Canada! in the Canada pavilion. This show, like the one in China, is a 360 Vision show. This show will educate you about Canada and the host is very funny! This show was updated and is now renamed Canada Far and Wide.
I hope this list will help you find shows to watch while in The World Showcase!
In Florida it rains A LOT so when it does rain I have found some great activities to do to make the time go by in the World Showcase.
5. The United States of America pavilion is a great place to go when it rains because they have a show called The American Adventure. This show talks about American History. Before the show starts you can listen to the Voices Of Liberty sing patriotic songs. (You should see this before the show starts if it’s raining because you are INDOORS!!) If you don’t want to hear the Voices Of Liberty you can look at the American Heritage Gallery that has American Indian art.
4. The France pavilion has a show called Impressions De France. This show is indoors and when the show is over you walk into Les Halles Boulangerie. They sell pastries and merchandise.
3. In the China pavilion, you can watch the indoor 360 Cirle-Vision show called Reflections on China. When the show is over you don’t have to go back in the pouring rain because you walk straight into a big store called House of Good Fortune.
2. The store Mitsukoshi in the Japan pavilion is really big so looking at the merchandise will certainly pass the time while it rains. If you are sick of looking at merchandise you can get your passport stamped and look at the Kawaii display. (It’s all in the same building!)
The best place to go when it is raining in the World Showcase is the pyramid in the Mexico pavilion because you can walk inside the pyramid and spent a long time looking at merchandise, eating at the restaurant San Angel Inn Restaurante, and go on the boat ride Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros. My favorite thing to do in the pyramid is to look at merchandise.
I hope this helps you stay dry while in the World Showcase!
The China pavilion is in my opinion, very relaxing because calming music is played in the pavilion.
5. My fifth favorite thing to do is eat at Nine Dragons Restaurant. When I went to this restaurant two years ago I had Salt and Pepper Shrimp with a strawberry smoothie. The smoothie was REALLY GOOD!!
4. I also enjoy watching The Jeweled Dragon Acrobats. This show is a live performance and is performed by kids!
3. Another thing I really like to do in the China pavilion is just look around at the beautiful buildings and peaceful looking lily pads. You should try just walking around in the China pavilion. It really is calming.
2. China, like the Canada and France pavilions, also has its own show called Reflections on China. This indoor 360 Circle-Vision Show explores the monuments of China by showing you images. This show will teach you a lot about China.
House Of Good Fortune is a huge store in the China pavilion that sells jade carvings, stuffed animal pandas, Chinese lanterns, and pieces of crystals just to name a few! This store even made my list of My Top Five Favorite Stores In Epcot’s World Showcase. You should definitely check out this store and that blog article!
