How Disney World Will Be Celebrating Disney World’s 50th Anniversary

Starting October 1, 2021 Disney World will celebrate Disney World’s 50th anniversary.

It will be called The World’s Most Magical Celebration. It’s such a big deal that Disney has created a new word, EARidescence. That word is to describe what you will see when you visit.

Cinderella’s Castle will get a makeover. It will have golden bunting and a 50th anniversary crest. Cinderella’s Castle will have pixie dust also.

New touches are coming to life at Hollywood Tower Hotel in Hollywood Studios.

Over at Animal Kingdom, fireflies will be at the Tree of Life.

In Epcot, lights will shine across the reflective panels of Spaceship Earth connecting to each other and resembling stars in the night sky. This will stay in Epcot even after the celebration.

Mickey and Minnie Mouse will even have new outfits. The outfits will be made out of custom made fashions of EARidescent fabric with gold highlights. I love their new outfits!

This celebration will be for 18 months. Yes, you heard that correctly! I’ll keep you updated in case we get more information about Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration!

New Minnie Ears Now Available On ShopDisney!

I absolutely love Minnie Ears! Who doesn’t?

On February 22nd, new Minnie Ears were released on the ShopDisney website.

These Minnie Ears are called Tweed and Pearl Minnie Ears. They are black, pink, and have a pretty bow in the center!

I especially love how the pearls on it are shaped like Mickey Mouse. These Minnie Ears cost $29.99.

ShopDisney has a ton of Disney merchandise that you can get even if you live no where near Disney World. I hope Disney keeps releasing new Minnie Ears on ShopDisney!

Discount MagicBand Choices

I have mentioned before how Disney is no longer giving out free MagicBands and I wanted to talk a little bit more about that.

If you have a hotel reservation you can get a discount MagicBand. The Birthday Cake MagicBand has a special pre-order price that is $20.00.

The Olive Green MagicBand has a special pre-order price of $5.00. All the other MagicBands that are just one color are also this price.

The Darth Vader MagicBand has a special pre-order price of $10.00.

The Character Autograph MagicBand has a special pre-order price of $15.00.

Those are all the discount MagicBands you can choose from. These special pre-order prices are only available if you have a hotel reservation. If you have a hotel reservation, you have a lot of options to choose from!

Free Solo Review

Free Solo on Disney+ is an action packed documentary!

Free Solo is about a mountain climber named Alex. That isn’t the crazy part yet. He climbs mountains WITHOUT A ROPE! (Please do not try this. Alex is a professional.) In this documentary, you will see Alex climb the 3,200 foot El Capitan without a rope.

Kids can watch Free Solo because Disney+ bleeped out all the curse words. I will warn you that this documentary will make you scared that Alex is going to die, but he doesn’t die.

I really liked this documentary because it is interesting to watch Alex climb El Capitan with absolutely no fear. I would have been terrified because I’m scared of heights.

A New Interactive Series Called Imagine From Home Will Make You Feel Creative

Walt Disney Imagineers and ABC have come together to create a video series called Imagine From Home.

Disney Imagineers will show you how to draw or craft something Disney themed with items you can find around your house. The five episodes can be found on ImagineFromHome.com and ABC Owned Television Stations’ 32 connected TV apps.

This is what you will draw or build:

Draw your own castle
Build a R2 Droid
Draw Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Make a Castle Night Light
Make It’s A Small World Animated Scene

This Is How Disney World Is Celebrating Black History Month

February is Black History Month, so Disney World is celebrating! Keep on reading to see how Disney World Resorts and Disney Springs are celebrating Black History Month.

Disney Springs is celebrating soulfully with art displays, special food, and more.

Do you like art? Well, then you are going to be happy to know that there are now four new art displays in Disney Springs! All four were inspired by the movie Soul on Disney+. The art displays were made by Black artists Bee Harris, Bianca Pastel, Arrington Porter, and Cory Van Lew. The art displays are the artists’ interpretation of the movie Soul.

On Sundays, Mondays, and Thursday evenings each week musicians are performing jazz music. Disney Springs is calling Sunday Smooth Sunday, Monday is Motown Monday, and Thursday is Jazz Thursday.

Disney Springs has special food available! At Amorette’s Patisserie you can get special desserts inspired by the movie Soul. Walt Disney Animation Studios has food inspired by The Princess and the Frog movie.

Disney Resort hotels are doing a Movies Under the Stars event all February long! This is free for guests staying at Disney Resorts. You can sit outside and watch movies celebrating Black culture like The Princess and the Frog.

The Soul of Jazz: An American Adventure opened in Epcot on February 1, 2021. It will stay open beyond the end of the month. The Soul of Jazz: An American Adventure is an exhibit that shows historic artifacts of famous jazz musicians and teaches you more about jazz.

If you are in Disney World make sure to go to Disney Springs, Epcot, and a Disney Resort hotel to celebrate Black History Month!

Disney My Music Story: Yoshiki Review

Disney My Music Story: Yoshiki just came to Disney+ on February 5th!

Disney My Music Story: Yoshiki is a documentary about Yoshiki who is the leader of a Japanese band called X Japan. He is a classically trained pianist who also was a rock and roll drummer.

When you watch this documentary it is in Japanese so you need to put the English subtitles on. My family and I didn’t know it wouldn’t have an English translator on top of the Japanese, so for the first five minutes we had no idea what was going on.

I give Disney My Music Story: Yoshiki 4 Mickey Bars! I will warn you that this documentary is REALLY SAD! If you are someone who gets upset easily then I do not recommend watching this. If you aren’t then I think you will enjoy this documentary because it is really fascinating!

Park Hours Have Been Extended In Mid February

First, park hours were extended in the last week of January and now they are being extended in mid February!

Magic Kingdom will remain open until 7 pm during the week and 8, 9, or 10 pm on the weekends. During the last week of February, Magic Kingdom will return to being open from 9 am-6 pm.

In Epcot, the park will be open until 8 pm during the week. Epcot will be open from 11 am-9 or 10 pm during the weekend.

Hollywood Studios will be open from 9 am-7 pm each day.

Finally, we have Animal Kingdom! Animal Kingdom will open at 8 am. This park will remain open until 6 pm on February 6th, until 7 pm on February 20th, and open until 8 pm on February 13th, 14th, and 15th.

Have fun staying at Disney World later in the day!

Face Masks Will Still Be Required In Disney World Even If You Get The COVID-19 Vaccine

If you go to Disney World right now, you are required to wear a face mask.

Disney now has said that even when you get the COVID-19 vaccine you will still need to wear a face mask. This rule is required for everyone two years old and up.

Your mask at Disney World right now has to meet certain rules. Such as:

Your mask must have two layers of breathable fabric
It has to cover your nose and mouth
Your mask has to fit your face comfortably
It needs to be secured by ties or ear loops

The only time you can take your mask off right now is if you are eating, drinking, or swimming. When you are eating, you have to be physically distant from other people.

Planning to eat at Kringla Bakeri og Kafe? Remember to be physically distant from others.

You can’t wear a costume mask at Disney World and your mask must be a fabric mask.
