Rating Every Disney Movie: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

This is a new segment in the blog where I will rate every Disney movie based on 4 factors. The factors are plot, entertainment, characters, and music. The plot will be rated based on how good the story is. Entertainment will be based on how invested I was in the movie and how interesting I found it. The characters will be based on if they were likeable/memorable or if they were a good villain in the story. And the music will be based on how memorable the songs are and how much I enjoy them. I will also rate each factor. I might also add side notes which could affect the ratings.

From the Disney+ website

These ratings will also only be based on movies, not Disney shorts. I will probably also only do movies that have popular sequels or were released in theaters. For example, Bambi 2 isn’t very famous and I don’t think it was released in theaters so I won’t be reviewing that movie. Lastly, I am pretty much only reviewing animated films, unless it is a super popular live action movie. I’m also going to give a spoiler warning to anyone who hasn’t seen the movie. This article will heavily spoil the movie. Enjoy!

Plot: The plot in Snow White is one of the best plots I have ever seen. Snow White’s evil stepmother is jealous of Snow White and decides she wants to kill her. Snow White has to escape and runs into the forest. She becomes friends with the animals and finds a house in the forest. Later, Snow White learns this house belongs to the dwarfs. So Snow White’s stepmother doesn’t find her, she makes a deal with the dwarfs. She will do their chores and in return she can stay in their house. Later the stepmother disguises herself and gives Snow White a poisoned apple. The only thing that could bring Snow White back was a kiss of true love. Snow White loved the prince and the prince loved her so when the prince kisses her, it brings her back. The movie ends with Snow White and the prince living happily ever after. My only complaint about the ending is that the dwarfs stay in the woods and keep mining. I think that Snow White should have taken them into her kingdom and let them live with no more work. I also felt bad for the dwarfs because they helped her but it feels like she didn’t help them in the end. Although, this is a pretty minor complaint and it is my only complaint about the plot. I will give the plot a 9/10!

From the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs movie

Entertainment: When I was watching Snow White, I was in the car where lots of things could have distracted me, but this movie kept me interested the whole time. Even with the 1930s animations, the movie kept me intrigued. The music and story together helped me keep watching and never get bored. I will give the entertainment a 9/10!

Characters: There weren’t that many characters in this movie. The important characters are really only Snow White, the evil stepmother, the seven dwarfs ( Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Sneezy, Bashful, and Dopey), all the animals, and the prince. Snow White was a very good protagonist and the voice actor did a good job with all of Snow White’s emotions. Whether she was scared, crying, or singing it felt relatively real, especially for a movie that is about 90 years old. The evil stepmother was a very memorable antagonist. You could tell she was very evil and was very jealous of Snow White’s features. She was also very memorable because of the story with the poison apple. The seven dwarfs were my favorite characters from the movie. I love how, pretty much, whenever they are in a scene the whole mood lights up. Dopey was also my favorite character because I liked his goofy kind of humor. It is also super cool that all the characters had completely different personalities based on their names. I could probably do a whole article on how much I love the dwarfs, and they were a great way of adding comic relief to the movie. Then, the animals were also fun to watch because they helped Snow White with her chores in the house. It was super cute seeing the animals wash clothes and dishes together. Lastly, I have the prince. He wasn’t in the movie much, and didn’t even have a name. Although, I still think he was a good addition and was a perfect partner for Snow White. Even though there weren’t that many characters, I didn’t mind it. I will still give the characters a 10/10!

Music: Lastly, we get to the music. I thought the music in this movie was catchy and likable. Some of the songs sung by Snow White are still really popular today, like “I’m Wishing”, “A Smile and a Song”, “The Silly Song (The Dwarfs’ Yodel Song)”, “Whistle While You Work”, or, my personal favorite, “Heigh-Ho”! These songs also helped bring life into the movie. And it didn’t have to be a big name song to bring life to the scene. It could have just been the orchestra playing a song with no words. No matter what song was playing, it always brought some sort of emotion. The movie did a great job with the music, which is why I will give it a 10/10!

If you don’t like old movies, I wouldn’t suggest this movie for you, but if you do, this is an incredible movie for you! My sister (Izzy) doesn’t like it because it is too old, which is completely fine with me, but if you give this movie a chance it could make you fall in love with Disney films. I also think you need to give this movie credit simply because it is almost 90 years old! The graphics and animation are actually very impressive when you remember how old the movie is. It is also crazy to think that the Walt Disney company had to hand draw the whole movie!

Because of this, my final rating is a 9/10! After I watch all of the movies, I will rewatch all of the 9/10s and give a 10/10. This could actually end up being my 10/10 movie but I guess we will find out! I hope you enjoyed the blog! I will keep posting about the movies! Next up is Pinocchio!

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Review

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is on Disney+ and the newest movie I will be reviewing!

Before we get into this review I would like to tell you that this review CONTAINS SPOILERS for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania as well as other MCU movies.

Photo belongs to the Walt Disney World Company.

After a series of events, Ant-Man, the Wasp, Janet, Hank, and Ant-Man’s daughter Cassie end up in the Quantum Realm. While in the Quantum Realm, they will learn more about a world that they could have never imagined. This movie starts off Phase 5 of the MCU.

I really liked the beginning of the movie. I was immediately interested and wanted to know what would happen next. Unfortunately, this feeling did not stick with me through out the movie.

The biggest problem with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is that most of the movie is just talking and not enough action. Half way through the movie, I was bored.

I was also confused because in the beginning of this movie Janet gets angry that Hank and Cassie are sending a signal to the Quantum Realm, but in the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp, Janet, Hank, Hope, and Scott were sending things to the Quantum Realm and she had no problem with that.

I give Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania 3 Mickey Bars. It was a confusing movie that, at many parts, was boring.

Spider-Man Movies Are Now On Disney+!

Have you ever been trying to look for a movie to watch on Disney+ and noticed that there are no Spider-Man movies? This is not the case anymore!

Photo belongs to the Walt Disney World Company.

Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3, and The Amazing Spider-Man all came to Disney+ on April 21, 2023.

Spider-Man: Homecoming just became available on May 12, 2023.

Last year, The Walt Disney World Company and Sony Pictures Entertainment agreed on a multi year content licensing contract. That means Disney can add movies and shows that Sony own to Disney+ and Hulu. This includes the Spider-Man movies.

I am very happy that Disney+ has Spider-Man movies. A couple months ago, my family and I were trying to watch every Spider-Man movie and it was really hard to do because we did not know where to watch the movies.

Interview with a 9 Year Old

It’s that time!

Izzy: What was your favorite new ride in Disney World?

Al: Guardian of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind because I like the songs that it picks and it is super smooth and a great ride on its own.  I like roller coasters and if you like roller coasters it’s a great ride to do.

Izzy: Is Epcot still your favorite Disney World park?

Al: Yes, because I like the World Showcase and eating all the different food they have and also they have some great rides like Guardians of the Galaxy, Test Track and Spaceship Earth.

Izzy: Can you rank your top five favorite rides at Disney World?

Al: Oh yeah, that’s easy. #5 Dinosaur, #4 Pirates of the Caribbean, #3 Test Track, #2 Rise of the Resistance, #1 Guardians of the Galaxy.

Rise of the Resistance

Izzy: What is your favorite restaurant at Disney World?

Al: Definitely Teppan Edo because they cook the food in front of you and it is cool to see them do all those tricks in front of you. And I love their shrimp.

Teppan Edo

Izzy: Which park do you like better, Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom?

Al: Definitely Magic Kingdom.  There are more rides and it is more of the original park.  It is really cool to see the animals up close in Animal Kingdom, but they don’t have as many rides that I like.

Izzy: What is the best ride in Animal Kingdom?

Al: Dinosaur but I really like the Kilimanjaro Safari too.

The Safari

Izzy: What is your favorite thing to watch on Disney+?

Al: That’s difficult.  Probably The Mandalorian because it is so well done and everybody loves Grogu.

Izzy: When we went to Disney last year, we stayed at Boardwalk Villas, Bay Lake Tower, Saratoga Springs and The Riviera, which hotel was your favorite?

Al: Boardwalk Villas because you can walk to Epcot or Hollywood Studios and when you leave the hotel you are on the boardwalk and there are lots of dining options nearby.

The lobby of The Boardwalk

Al: Still Spiderman.

Izzy: What is your favorite snack at Disney World?

Al: The Mickey pretzel is still my favorite.

Izzy: Last April we went to Universal Studios, what was your favorite ride?

Al: Hagrids because it is a smooth roller coaster with no bumps in it and I like how it goes around and you see different animals in the Harry Potter world, but I also like Spiderman a lot.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special Review

If you are looking for something to watch to celebrate Christmas, then you should watch The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special on Disney+!

The Guardians want this Christmas to be perfect for Quill. They head to Earth to look for a Christmas present for him.

I thought that The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special was ok. It was not something I would watch again, but it is something nice to watch once. I enjoyed seeing how the Guardians reacted to being on Earth and this will definitely put you in the holiday mood.

I would give The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special 4 Mickey Bars!

Secret Society of Second-Born Royals Review

If you are looking for a new movie to watch on Disney+, I have one for you!

Secret Society of Second-Born Royals follows Sam, who is second in line to the throne of the kingdom of Illyria. She is rebellious and instead of being a typical princess she would rather put a concert on to protest the monarchy or be with her band. Her mother, who is tired of Sam’s behavior, decides to send Sam to royal summer boarding school. This is not your typical boarding school though. Sam and the other second born royals discover that they actually have superpowers and will be taught how to use them. Then, when a stranger arrives Sam and the other second born royals must use their superpowers to protect everyone.

I thought that this movie was really good because I liked seeing Sam and the other second born royals learning how to use their powers. You also get to see a lot of character growth. I would recommend watching this movie if you like movies where the characters have superpowers.

I give Society of Second Born Royals 5 Mickey Bars!

My Top Five Favorite MCU Movies

Today, I decided that I will be telling you my favorite Marvel movies!

5. In fifth place we have Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Shang-Chi will have to confront the father and sister he thought he left behind. I absolutely loved all the martial arts fighting in this movie.

4. Fourth place is Spider-Man: Homecoming. Spider-Man is trying to get the hang of his superpowers, but soon he learns about the Vulture and will have to find a way to defeat him. I really like how we get to see Peter Parker try to balance being Peter Parker and Spider-Man.

Photo belongs to the Walt Disney World Company.

3. Black Panther is the next movie on this list! Wakanda is a high tech African country that is home to T’Challa (Black Panther). He has come back to Wakanda to become the next king, but someone challenges him to the throne. This movie has an amazing story line and has one of the best villains in the MCU.

2. In second place we have Thor: Ragnarok. In this movie, Thor is trying to stop Ragnarok, which is the destruction of his home. He will have to team up with the Hulk, Valkyrie, and even Loki. Along the way, Thor will discover that Asgard is not a place, it’s a people. I love how many jokes are in this movie because it makes this movie lighthearted and fun.

  1. My favorite Marvel movie is Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Captain America must join forces with Black Widow to learn what is really going on at S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters. He will also have to confront someone from his past. I feel like this is the best MCU movie that Black Window was in and Captain America is one of my favorite Avengers.

What are your top five favorite MCU movies?

This is the Star Wars show that I am most looking forward to. Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi will be about Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku. We will get to learn more about both of these characters. This show will have six shorts. All six shorts will be coming to Disney+ on October 26.

Photo belongs to the Walt Disney World Company.

Thor Love and Thunder Review

Thor Love and Thunder is now on Disney+!

Before we get into the review, I want to tell you that this review will HAVE SPOILERS for Thor Love and Thunder.

Photo belongs to the Walt Disney World Company.

Thor Love and Thunder is about Thor as he is trying to figure out who he is.

Thor meditating. / Photo belongs to the Walt Disney World Company.

Then, he learns that there is someone called Gorr the God Butcher who is trying to kill all the gods. Thor must try to stop Gorr the God Butcher alongside King Valkryie, Korg, and Thor’s ex-girlfriend Jane Foster, who is now the Mighty Thor.

I really liked this movie because I liked how many jokes were in this movie. It made the movie feel more lighthearted and fun. Thor’s first weapon, Mjolnir, is now being wielded by Mighty Thor and Thor misses his hammer. The funny part though is how Thor’s current weapon, Stormbreaker, is jealous of the attention Thor is giving Mjolnir!

Jealous Stormbreaker. / Photo belongs to the Walt Disney World Company.

I also thought it was really cool how Jane is now a superhero named Mighty Thor.

Mighty Thor. / Photo belongs to the Walt Disney World Company.

I would give Thor Love and Thunder 4 Mickey Bars! I did not like that Mighty Thor had to die at the end of the movie. It didn’t make sense to me why they would introduce a new superhero just to kill her off at the end of the movie. I did see the end credit at the end of the movie and I know she is in Valhalla, which is the Asgardian afterlife, but I still wished she hadn’t died.
