The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover reopened today! (April 25, 2021.)
The PeopleMover closed before the pandemic started and for a long time we were all wondering when it would reopen. Disney had delayed the reopening of The PeopleMover a bunch of times.
That is why I was surprised to hear that it is now open. I even watched a live stream in Tomorrowland to make sure I was giving you accurate news.
I am very glad The PeopleMover is back because that is definitely a must do ride while you are in Magic Kingdom!
Have you ever noticed that the Spider-Man movies are the only movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that aren’t on Disney+?
Sony owns the rights to the Spider-Man character and the Spider-Man movies. That is why the Spider-Man movies aren’t on Disney+, but things are changing!
The Walt Disney World Company and Sony Pictures Entertainment have agreed on a multi year content licensing contract. That means Disney can add movies and shows that Sony own to Disney+ and Hulu. This includes movies like The Spider-Man movies, Jumanji, and Hotel Transylvania.
This agreement also includes theater releases from 2022-2026. This means that more titles are coming to Hulu starting in June.
Earlier this year, it was announced that the Disney Magical Express would no longer be running starting January 1, 2022.
The Magical Express was a transportation service for Disney guests staying at a Disney World Resort that would help guests get to their resort and the Orlando International Airport.
Mears, the company that operated The Magical Express transportation, said they will have their own transportation to and from Disney World. Mears will start using Mears Connect to get Disney World guests to the airport and Disney World resorts in January 2022. Reservations will be required and you can begin booking through Mears Connect starting May 2021.
If more information is released about this new transportation, I promise to tell you!
Disney World keeps on changing its mask policy and the change this time is a big one!
You can temporarily take off your face masks when you are actively taking outdoor photos starting April 8, 2021. You can temporarily take off your face mask while actively eating, drinking, or taking an outdoor photo but you have to be physically distant from other people. These are the only times you are allowed to take off your face mask.
Right now, you have to keep your mask on if you take an indoor photo and during ride photos.
This is a big update because this is the first time Disney World has added a circumstance where you can temporarily take off your face mask. I will continue to tell you about changes happening around the Disney World parks!
Just three weeks ago, Disney announced a new service called MagicMobile. A contactless way to have MagicBand features such as theme park entry on a smart device. Now, MagicMobile is available for Apple devices.
MagicMobile is currently available for iPhones and Apple Watches, but you will soon be able to use it on other smart devices. You can create a MagicMobile pass using The My Disney Experience App. Then, you can add it to the Wallet app on an iPhone or digital wallet on other smart devices. You can customize your pass to make it more you with Disney themed designs. You can store multiple passes on one device.
Now how do you enter the parks with MagicMobile? All you have to do is hold out your iPhone, Apple Watch, or other smart devices near an access point when entering into a Disney park. Just like using a MagicBand. If you have Express Mobile, you don’t even need to unlock your Apple device or open the app.
The My Disney Experience App now has a new feature that lets you automatically link your Disney PhotoPass attraction photos and videos to your profile through your smartphone. You need to confirm your settings before riding at participating attractions. The app also lets you unlock your room door using the digital room key feature if you stay at a Disney Resort.
I’ll keep you updated with news about MagicMobile!
